We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our 2025 Town Committee Reorganization efforts across Bennington County! 🎉
Thanks to the dedication of volunteers, community members, and local leaders, 10 town committees were successfully reorganized, and we proudly welcomed a newly organized committee in the Town of Sunderland! This vital work ensures every town in Bennington County has a voice in the future of our party, and a seat at the table as we head into the next election cycle.
What’s Next: The County Committee Reorganization
With town reorgs complete, we now look ahead to the Bennington County Democratic Committee’s Reorganization Meeting, a biennial event required by Vermont law and our party bylaws. At this meeting:
Delegates newly elected by each town will convene for the first time.
Officers of the Bennington County Democratic Committee (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer) will be nominated and elected.
We’ll lay the foundation for county-wide strategy as we prepare to defend our seats and gain ground in 2026.
Special Guests
Jim Ramsey
Chair of the Vermont Democratic Party
Jim Ramsey leads statewide efforts to elect Democratic candidates, strengthen grassroots organizing, and advance progressive policies across the state. A dedicated party leader and lifelong advocate for civic engagement, Jim previously served as Chair of the Bennington County Democratic Committee and as Town Chair of the Manchester Democrats, roles in which he helped build local momentum and expand Democratic participation. Today, he continues that work on a statewide scale, focusing on creating an inclusive and effective party that delivers results for all Vermonters.
Amy Siskind
Activist, Author, Movement Builder
Amy Siskind is one of America’s most determined champions of democracy — a trailblazing activist, author, and movement builder whose voice has galvanized millions to stand up, speak out, and take action.
A former Wall Street executive who shattered barriers as one of the youngest women ever to become a Managing Director at a major firm, Amy left corporate leadership to fight for something bigger: a more just, equitable, and democratic America. She co-founded The New Agenda, a national organization dedicated to advancing gender equity, empowering women and girls, and challenging systemic bias across workplaces, media, and politics.
When democratic norms began to erode in 2017, Amy responded not with despair, but with determination. She created The Weekly List, a historic chronicle documenting the steady shifts toward authoritarianism and equipping everyday Americans with the knowledge to resist them. Her bestselling book, The List: A Week-by-Week Reckoning of Trump’s First Year, is now widely recognized as an essential record of this era — and a rallying cry for vigilance and civic engagement.
In 2019, Amy transformed that vigilance into direct action by founding the We The People March, a nationwide demonstration of democratic power and collective resolve. Tens of thousands joined her call to reclaim government “of, by, and for the people,” marching in Washington, D.C. and in solidarity events across the country. The march became a defining moment in modern activism, uniting people across party lines to demand accountability, justice, and the protection of fundamental rights.
Amy’s influence extends far beyond any single project. She is a leading advocate for LGBTQ+ equality, a sought-after speaker and strategist, and a mentor to emerging political leaders. Named one of Politico’s 50 thinkers shaping American politics, she is a trusted commentator on democracy and authoritarianism whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, MSNBC, and beyond.
At her core, Amy Siskind is driven by an unshakable belief in people power. Whether documenting threats to democracy, building coalitions, or leading movements into the streets, she has dedicated her life to proving that ordinary citizens — when united — can change the course of history. Her mission is clear: to build a future that is inclusive, equitable, and fiercely democratic — and to never stop fighting until we get there.
Amy has a home in Bennington County where she escapes city life, and considers herself in love with her home away from home.
